"Hi there I recently purchased this electronic door for my miniature dashhound who is 7 months old and called Carter. I had made a makeshift door to slip into my sliding door which worked well but wasn't good for a long term use and it made the door to narrow so after talking with the staff I ordered a electronic dog door and had it professionally installed it took five minutes at the most to get my pup used to the door and little step up that was different from the previous door but is now not a problem treats and praise worked wonders it is the best thing ever it looks nice and neat in my window and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. As I have a big Breezeway facing that window I feel comfortable that this door because of its strong magnet will not blow open and if we have a GaIe I can set it on the microchip setting so that it will only open if the dog needs to go in and out this is a great option and looks very neat and tidy. thank you"

Definitely recommend this door.

"Great door. Perfect size for my maltese shih tzu. The install was really easy and the controls are easy to use too. It arrived really quickly. I've only just installed it today and my dog hasn't quite figured out the flap, but is getting there. I wanted this so the dog could come in and out but cats can't get out. Was really easy to add her microchip to it. And great that it comes with two rfid tags too. Really good quality as well."

Avoid if you wanna use micro chip in the dog

"I wanted to upgrade the door size for my toy poodles, so I moved from a SureFlap to this unit — and honestly, I regret it. You can add the dogs’ microchips, but the door simply does not detect them. The included RFID tags do work, but my dogs don’t wear collars at night, which makes them completely useless. Yes, you could argue “just use the tags,” but that defeats the whole point of a microchip-based door. A product at this price should reliably read standard pet microchips. Poor design, poor execution. This door is not fit for purpose. 0. 1 Star."

Peace of mind for pet owners — highly recommend!

"I was a little hesitant to purchase the Hakuna Pets Microchip Pet Door since it’s a newer product with no reviews, but I’m pleasantly impressed with the quality and glad I took the leap — consider this your sign to do the same! We got it so our cat couldn’t get out, but our dog could still come and go freely, and it’s been perfect. We’re only using one microchip, and it works flawlessly. I love that you can hear it lock and unlock — a little electric/mechanical sound that didn’t bother our dog at all. I actually like hearing it, especially at night, so I know when he’s coming in and out. It’s bigger than more expensive brands, yet basically half the price, which is awesome. Sturdy, well-made, and it comes with a 3-year warranty and 2 tags included (though they can’t be purchased separately — it would be great if they could!). One thing to note, which I imagine is the same for all microchip doors, is that it doesn’t automatically lock until the door stops swinging, so another pet could theoretically piggyback while the door is moving. The only thing that could make this even better is if Hakuna offered a tag holder that keeps the tag flush with the collar instead of a keyring attachment. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to keep some animals safely inside while still giving others freedom!"
